I’ve completed the final Flora London Marathon

Well, it’s over. The big day has come and gone and I’ve finally had the lucy-porter-presents-medal-to-kevin-matthewsopportunity to complete the London Marathon again after a 12 year gap.

This time around was much more painful than I remember from before, although rose-tinted glasses maybe playing a part in my selective memory.

Yet, importantly, I have fulfilled my goal and achieved my Jenrick Experience!

I have to admit that crossing that finish line was an extremely emotional experience. You don’t realise how much mental energy it takes to complete the marathon until you’ve reached the end, especially as this time around it was not plain sailing by any stretch of the imagination!

Envelope Works featured in Print Week

Envelope printer and manufacturer, The Envelope Works, has been print-week-reader-reaction-march-2009-350pixfeatured again in Print Week, this time in the Reader Reaction section.

Managing Director, Mark Farrimond, was asked to provide his industry persepective on the current wage increases that are being enforced upon the print industry from the BPIF and Unite Unions. (more…)

The Envelope Works - FSC accreditation Printweek feature

The Envelope Works has recently been featured in Printweek fschighlighting their success in gaining FSC & PEFC accredition during 2008.

Of particular note was the fact that The Envelope Works achieved the accreditation within just a two week time period - one of the shortest ever recorded.

Much of this was put down to the organisation and input of Adrian Booth, Estimating Manager for The Envelope Works, who had worked with the FSC before and was very aware of what processes needed to be in place in order for the company to become  accredited.

2009 The Sunday Times Top 100 best companies to work for awards - Jenrick achieves 6th

Jenrick followed up its two previous years of success within the top-100-image-450Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for, by reaching 6th position in the 2009 awards – the company’s highest finish so far.

Kevin Matthews London Marathon update

Training
This has gone well so far.

I completed the Great South Run (10 mile road race) in Portsmouth at the very end of October. I finished in a time of just over 1hr 30 minutes, which was where I wanted to be at that stage of my training. (more…)

3 Star Best Companies Awards 2009

In the 2009 Best Companies Awards Jenrick competed against 795 jenrick-3-star-with-julie-alton-webother companies, of all sizes and spanning an array of industry sectors, to achieve this award, with just 55 achieving the top accolade of 3 Stars.

As we have briefly mentioned, what is quite unique about the accreditation is that the ratings have been compiled in a way which enables all companies, regardless of size, to compete on a level plain-field. Therefore, the final scores truly reflect which companies are the very best to work for. (more…)

The Envelope Works is a leading UK envelope printer and manufacturer and has over 38 envelope printing and manufacturing machines spread over three plants, enabling it to produce large volume, custom printed envelopes within very strict timeframes.
